January 24, 2025, the National Squadron Units, together with Naval Aviation aircraft, carried out coastal training on the central coast, marking the closing of the operational learning acquired during 2024 and the official start of activities for this year, together with the new crews.

The exercise, which involved various units of the Chilean Navy, had as its main purpose to reinforce operational capabilities, evaluate tactical procedures and promote the integration of the crews that begin their period on board. This type of operation ensures a high level of readiness and coordination between the different naval forces, essential to maintain the commitment to defense, maritime security and support to citizens.

During the activity, the crews put into practice the knowledge acquired during 2024, facing scenarios that included navigation in formation, tactical maneuvers, search and rescue drills, and integration exercises with Naval Aviation aircraft.

Community and commitment

The stopover was also an opportunity for the communities of Concón, Viña del Mar and Valparaíso to see first-hand the professionalism and preparation of the Chilean Navy. From the coastal edge, numerous families witnessed the passage of the naval units and the air maneuvers, demonstrating the close bond between the Institution and the citizens.

Salvador, who had the opportunity to witness coastal navigation from Reñaca, said that “I was walking and saw the ships. It is very important to see how the Chilean Navy works, which has an important preventive role in caring for our seas from a defensive point of view, but also for natural resources, so it is very interesting to see them and learn about them.”

For Mabel, an Argentine tourist from San Juan, “we came with my husband and another couple to go for a walk and spend a few days at the beach and it caught my attention because I had never seen these ships. I also saw the two helicopters and they caught my attention.”

This day not only marks the beginning of a new operational cycle, but also reinforces the Chilean Navy’s commitment to excellence in its work and the constant preparation of its men and women in service to the country.
