From February 26 to March 8, 2024, the multinational Mine War Exercise “ARIADNI 24” took place in the wider maritime area of the Cretan Sea.
The above exercise is organized by the Navy on an annual basis with the aim of training in Mine War subjects as well as promoting the level of cooperation of the participants in an allied context.
The exercise involved Navy units, Standing NATO Mine Countermeasures Group 2 (SNMCMG2) units, Undersea Disaster Management (SDM) mine countermeasures equipment and personnel, Air Force aircraft as well as equipment and personnel from the United States of America, Belgium, Ireland, Romania, Bulgaria and Croatia.
