An undisclosed multi-mission frigate (FREMM) made the second stop of her deployment in Bodø, Norway, after participating in a cooperation exercise with the Norwegian supply ship HNOMS Maud.

After training with the Norwegian supply ship HNOMS Maud, the FREMM conducted an assistance exercise to a vessel at sea aboard the Maud. A team of French heavy firefighters therefore boarded the ship to assist its crew. This exercise strengthened cooperation and interoperability between the two allied nations.

The two days at sea that followed were devoted to training for the crew. The patrol continues in the North Atlantic, a strategic competition area for France. This is part of the logic of a quasi-permanent French presence aimed at preserving freedom of navigation and ensuring our ability to assess the situation independently.

Arriving on 9 October, the FREMM welcomed on board Commander Chatelain, defense attaché at the French Embassy in Oslo. The topics discussed focused on the reasons for the presence of the French ship in Norway and the lasting integration of French forces in the area, reinforced by the formalization of air cooperation between the powers bordering the North Atlantic.
