The Romanian Naval Forces carried out, on May 5-8, in the Calafat River district, the multinational exercise BLUE DANUBE 2026, in which capacities from the River Fleet, Naval Logistics Base “Pontica”, 39 Divers Center, Border Police, as well as from the Armed Forces of the Republic of Serbia and Hungary.

The training sequences were attended by more than 160 soldiers from Romania, Hungary and the Republic of Serbia, with seven ships, four vessels and two autonomous unmanned aerial systems.

The River Flotilla participated with monitor 46 “Ion C. Brătianu” and the 179th armored star “Posada” from the composition of the 67th Artillery Carrier Division “Commander Virgil Alexandru Dragalina”.

Also, the Naval Logistics Base “Pontica” took part with the river tug 328 in the framework of Section 325 Logistic Support Tulcea, the 39 Divers Center provided a boat with a team of river divers genius research, and the Territorial Inspector of the Border Police Timisoara participated with the river patrolling stool MAY 3060.

The Armed Forces of the Republic of Serbia have been involved with three military ships, three boats, an autonomous unmanned system, and Hungary will participate with troops at the command point of the exercise.

Exercise BLUE DANUBE is coordinated by the Command of the River Fleet “Mihail Kogălniceanu” and aims to strengthen the military cooperation between Romania, Hungary and the Republic of Serbia, in the naval field, on the Danube River, by developing the level of training of participating forces and their interoperability, in a multinational framework.

By conducting this exercise, national and international structures have strengthened their joint action procedures and cooperation relationships, to maintain a stable security climate on the Danube.
