Within the framework of the National Security Strategy, in recent days, during maritime operations led by elements of the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar), through the Mexican Navy acting as the Coast Guard, in coordination with the Ministry of National Defense (Defense), Attorney General’s Office (FGR), National Guard (GN) and Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), they carried out the seizure of around 1.3 tons of alleged cocaine off the coast of Guerrero.
This action was carried out during maritime surveillance patrol tours, aboard a Mexican Navy ship, where naval personnel sighted 68 black sacks, which were tied to each other, inside which they contained brick-type packages with a white powder with characteristics similar to cocaine hydrochloride, weighing approximately 1.3 tons.
The alleged illicit cargo seized was transported by sea to the dock of the Eighth Naval Region and made available to the FGR to integrate the corresponding investigation folder.
These actions are part of the maritime, air, and land surveillance operations carried out by the Secretariat of the Navy through the Mexican Navy in national waters, to inhibit criminal action to guarantee and maintain the rule of law in Mexican marine areas.
