Marine Combat Group (Guspurla) Koarmada II, TNI Navy through KRI SELAR-879 carried out social service activities for coastal communities at the Tahuna Public Port Pier, Sangihe Islands Regency, North Sulawesi, Thursday (4/6).
The activity, which was led directly by the Commander of the Second Fleet Naval Combat Group, First Admiral TNI Endra Hartono, S.H., M.Han., and also attended by the Regent of the Sangihe Islands, Michael Thungari, S.E., M.M., was realized through the distribution of basic food packages to coastal fishing communities as a form of TNI Navy’s concern for the welfare of maritime communities who have been dependent on the livelihood of the marine and fisheries sectors.
In addition to carrying out operational duties in maintaining the security and sovereignty of Indonesian waters, the presence of KRI SELAR-879 also shows the TNI Navy’s commitment to always be present in the community through various social activities that provide real benefits. This activity is also a means of strengthening the relationship between TNI Navy soldiers and coastal communities.
The social service is a manifestation of the TNI Navy’s attention and concern in supporting the welfare of the maritime community, as well as strengthening the unity of the TNI Navy with the people. Through activities like this, it is hoped that there will be an increasingly strong synergy between the elements of state defense and the community as an important part in maintaining the resilience of the national maritime area.
This activity is in line with the direction of the Chief of Naval Staff (Kasal) Admiral TNI Dr. Muhammad Ali so that all ranks of the Indonesian Navy are not only professional in carrying out operational duties and maintaining maritime sovereignty, but also continue to increase social awareness and make a real contribution to the welfare of the community, especially maritime communities throughout Indonesia.
