Participation in Multilateral Exercise (IMX/CE25) hosted by the U.S.
The Indo-Pacific Middle East Deployment 2025 (IMED25) unit will participate in a multilateral
exercise (IMX/CE25) hosted by the U.S. as described below in order to strengthen cooperation to
realize a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific”.
1. Objectives
(1) To improve the JMSDF’s tactical capabilities
(2) To enhance mutual understanding and strengthen relationship with the participating countries
2. Period
February 9-21
3. Exercise Area
Kingdom of Bahrain and surrounding area.
4. Participate units
(1) Commanding Officer: CAPT AMANO Shinsuke, Commander, Minesweeper Division 3
(2) Units: JS BUNGO (MST 464), JS ETAJIMA (MSO 306) (IMED25 Unit)
5. Type of Exercise
Mine Warfare Exercise, etc.
6. Notes
The JMSDF has participated in IMX/CE since 2017, and this is the 5th time.
