Finnish Navy

Four Archer-class P2000 patrol boats of the British Navy trained with the Navy last weekend in the Gulf of Finland.

The Naval Command Naval Operations Centre and the missile boat Hamina practiced with the vessels the formation of a common maritime situational picture and the surveillance and protection of critical infrastructure. The vessels moored and replenished over the weekend in Helsinki.

The cooperation is part of the Tarassis series of activities of the JEF (Join Expeditionary Force) community, which began at the beginning of September. Parts of it are implemented in the North Atlantic, the Nordic countries and the Baltic Sea region. The activities demonstrate the JEF’s ability to act collectively and project force in response to threats to regional security.

TARASSIS is a multinational and multidisciplinary entity that includes operations on land, at sea, in the air, in space and in cyberspace.
