A proud moment yesterday in Trieste for the Battle Flag ceremony for the Trieste, the largest ship delivered to the Navy since World War II, which we are proud to have built at our shipyards in Castellammare di Stabia and Muggiano. The Minister of Defense was present.
The heads of the Defense and Navy General Staffs, our President Biagio Mazzotta and the highest regional and city authorities, and the ship’s Godmother Laura Mattarella, we shared a day celebrating an absolute excellence of Made in Italy, a true masterpiece of engineering and a symbol of our country, destined to represent the values of Italy and our Navy throughout the world. The delivery of the Battle Flag, the true soul of the ship, marks the beginning of the operational life of the Trieste, serving the safety of people and the sea. The Trieste will sail the seas strengthened by the spirit of all the women and men of Fincantieri, who, from the early design stages and throughout construction, have poured passion, expertise, and talent into the creation of a jewel of technological innovation, with an eye toward the future of defense.
