The stopover in the port of Durazzo for the training ship Palinuro has ended, during the 60th training campaign for the Allievi Normale Marescialli. Second foreign stopover for the future non-commissioned officers Nocchieri of the Navy after the one in Lussinpiccolo in Croatia.
The schooner dedicated to the helmsman of Aeneas has had a warm welcome from the citizens, with numerous visits on board since the first days. For the personnel in training, there have been important examples of what they will be involved in in the near future, when they will finally receive their first assignments. In fact, after having carried out the usual protocol visits to the civil and military authorities together with the Commander, they were able to experience first-hand the important role of Naval Diplomacy played by the Navy Units when they stop in foreign ports.
During his stay in Albania, the Italian Ambassador, HE Fabrizio Bucci, had the opportunity to visit the Palinuro ship, bringing his greetings to both the Crew and the Students and wanted to underline the importance of the visit of the Unit in the port of a Country that is growing and developing increasingly important relations with Italy. The stop in a port like the Albanian one strengthens the bond that unites the two Countries with a greater push in the embassy activities.
At the end of the visit, very important and formative for the entire Crew, the Navy sailing ship set sail again heading towards Sicily for the last navigation in favor of the Students of the 25th Horus Course of Mariscuola Taranto. In fact, having arrived in Sicily on the occasion of the historical reenactment of the landing of Don Giovanni of Austria, during the Battle of Lepanto in 1571, they will disembark after having gained a fundamental experiential and professional baggage for their future as Helmsmen.
