The commitment in establishing a good cooperative relationship with friendly countries was shown this time by TNI AL in this case TNI AL Main Base (Lantamal) III Jakarta when it received the arrival of the Italian Navy warship, ITS Antonio Marceglia (F597) at Tanjung Priok Pier, North Jakarta. Tuesday (13/5).

The arrival of ITS Antonio Marceglia (F597) was welcomed by the Commandant of Lantamal III Jakarta, Brigadier TNI (Mar) Harry Indarto, SE, MM represented by the Ward of Lantamal III Marine Colonel (P) Ranu Samiaji, ST, MH, M.Tr.Opsla.

A day before the arrival of the Italian Navy warship, the TNI AL also welcomed the arrival of the Japanese Navy warship JS Yahagi FFM-5 which was welcomed by the Commandant of Lantamal III Jakarta, TNI Brigadier General (Mar) Harry Indarto, SE, MM represented by Asintel Danlantamal III Marine Colonel (T) Saut Lagu Jendri T. Panjaitan, SE, M.Tr.Opsla., at Tanjung Priok Pier, North Jakarta. Monday (12/5).

The warship of the Italian Navy, ITS Antonio Mareglia is the eighth platform ship of the Bergamini class and the last of the four GP (General Purpose) frigates that have the main mission of anti-surface and anti-air warfare. The ship, commanded by Commander Alberto Bartolomeo, is equipped with a Leonardo 127/64 mm LW cannon, capable of firing Vulcano long-range guided munitions and a Super Rapido 76/62 gun mount in the Davide/Stales configuration, capable of firing DART guided munitions against anti-ship missiles and asymmetric threats.

Meanwhile, JS Yahagi is a Mogami-Class Frigate, commanded by Commander Tamura, Masayoshi. The ship, which was inaugurated on January 23, 2022, has a complete and modern weapon system, with a length of 133 meters, a width of 16.3 meters and a draft of 9 meters and has a weight of 5,500 tons.

This friendly visit is expected to increase brotherhood between the navies of friendly countries, the spirit of Navy Brotherhood as well as strengthen bilateral relations between the Government of Indonesia and the Government of Italy and Japan in various fields of cooperation.

Furthermore, the two friendly countries will be scheduled to pay a courtesy call tomorrow, namely the Italian delegation will pay a courtesy call to the Vice Chief of Naval Staff (Wakasal) TNI Vice Admiral Erwin S. Aldedharma in Mabesal, Cilangkap, East Jakarta. While the Japanese delegation will make a courtesy call to Asops Pangkoarmada RI in Mako Koarmada RI, Central Jakarta.

This activity is one of the programs of TNI AL in order to increase professionalism, strengthen cooperative relations, and externally has the purpose of increasing the diplomatic role of TNI AL in accordance with the priority program of the Chief of Naval Staff (Kasal) Admiral TNI Dr. Muhammad Ali.
