Baglietto’s Navy division, together with Siman Yachts, a company that specializes in the construction of steel hulls, has been awarded the construction of four 33-metre vessels for the Italian Navy’s “TIRocino di MAnovra” (TIRMA ships) training initiative.

The purpose of the units will be to train personnel (four crew members and 20 people are expected to undergo training) in seafaring and navigation.

In particular, the TIRMA ships will allow the young trainees to familiarize themselves with a ship environment, and to acquire skills related to kinematics and mooring manoeuvers as well as safety activities.

The design of the new vessels has just begun and is being carried out by Siman and Baglietto alongside the Navy itself. For Baglietto Navy the new order comes after last year’s delivery to Fincantieri of two Combat Boats (fast projection units) also destined for the Italian Navy.
