Two Indonesian warships from the Koarmada II ranks, namely KRI Makassar-590, and KRI Raden Eddy Martadinata-331 carried out a Farewell Pass with two Australian Navy warships, HMAS Adelaide L01 and HMAS Stuart 153 in the waters of the Bali Strait, on Sunday (17/11). The four warships previously participated in the Joint Exercise Keris Womera 2024, which successfully strengthened military cooperation between the two countries.
In an enthusiastic atmosphere, KRI MKS-590 and KRI REM-331 paid their farewell salute as a sign that the joint exercise Keris Womera 2024 had been completed. The maneuvers of the two Indonesian warships illustrate a sense of pride and solidarity, as well as reflect the close friendship between Indonesia and Australia.
The Farewell Pass tradition is not just a formality. Above the blue waves of the archipelago, this moment is a symbol of maritime honor and solidarity that is understood by every sailor in the world. The harmonious movement of the ships, the majestically waving flags, and the thrilling atmosphere of respect reflect the highest respect for colleagues from friendly countries.
In addition, this Farewell Pass also marks a new chapter in Indonesian maritime diplomacy. The Indonesian Navy not only appears as a guardian of sovereignty, but also as an ambassador of peace that strengthens international relations. This event reminds us that the ocean is not only a territorial boundary, but also a bridge that connects nations in a spirit of cooperation and harmony.
KRI Makassar-590 and KRI RE Martadinata-331 show the world that tradition, honor, and cooperation are values that are always maintained by the Indonesian Navy in every mission it carries out.
