Bank Indonesia in collaboration with the Indonesian Navy through the Second Fleet Command held a mobile cash activity entitled “Sovereign Rupiah Expedition (ERB) 2025”. The activity was officially released by the Commander of the Second Fleet Command, Rear Admiral TNI I G. P. Alit Jaya, S.H., M.Si., at Madura Pier, Headquarters of the Second Fleet, Ujung Surabaya, Tuesday (14/10/2025).
The implementation of ERB 2025 in East Java Province took place from 14 to 20 October 2025, and became the 17th series of 18 expeditions held nationally by Bank Indonesia. This year, the ERB mission will visit five islands in the East Java region, namely Gili Genting, Gili Raja, Pagerungan Besar, Pagerungan Kecil, and Goagoa.
This expedition activity aims to support the availability of circulating rupiah banknotes in the 3T (Frontier, Outermost, and Remote) areas. In addition to carrying out the clean money policy, ERB activities are also filled with education on Love, Pride, and Understanding Rupiah, socialization of payment digitization through QRIS, consumer protection, and the distribution of 500 social assistance packages in collaboration with the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of East Java Province.
In his remarks by the Assistant to the Chief of Naval Staff (Asops Kasal) Admiral TNI Yayan Sofiyan, which was read by the Commander of the Second Fleet Admiral TNI I G. P. Alit Jaya, it was conveyed that the Sovereign Rupiah Expedition is a form of real synergy between Bank Indonesia and the Indonesian Navy in supporting national economic resilience.
“The Indonesian Navy also ensures that the distribution of Rupiah money to the 3T region runs smoothly and safely as part of efforts to maintain the nation’s economic sovereignty,” he said.
Furthermore, Asops Kasal emphasized that the involvement of TNI Navy elements in this activity is not only limited to escorting or supporting sea transportation, but also the implementation of the main tasks of the TNI Navy in military operations other than war (OMSP), namely assisting the government in national development and improving the welfare of people in remote areas.
The synergy between Bank Indonesia and the Indonesian Navy in the implementation of the Sovereign Rupiah Expedition has made a significant contribution to maintaining state sovereignty and national economic stability. Through the equitable distribution of the Rupiah to remote parts of the archipelago, this activity is a tangible proof of the state’s presence throughout Indonesia.
With the spirit of togetherness and devotion, ERB 2025 is expected to provide the best service to the community and affirm the meaning that the Rupiah is a symbol of national sovereignty and a form of state presence in every inch of the country.
