The AS 565 MBe Panther HS-1306 TNI AL helicopter which is currently part of the TNI XXVIII-P/UNIFIL Maritime Task Force (MTF) Task Force is the only helicopter element operating and flying in the Mediterranean Sea Maritime Operation (AMO) Area, Lebanon, Saturday (08/02).

The AS 565 MBe Panther HS-1306 helicopter piloted by Captain Laut (P) Arif Heri and Copilot Lieutenant Laut (P) M. Langgeng Prakoso carried out its first flight with an Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) mission in the third ontask of KRI Sultan Iskandar Muda-367 (KRI SIM-367).

The implementation of this first flight was after the UN COE and Safety Inspection Team from the Mission Aviation Safety Officer (MASO) carried out an inspection and gave an “Excellent” rating to all equipment, aircraft and other equipment and met all the requirements needed to carry out the UN mission being carried out.

ISR Flight is an operation to observe, detect, and hail ships entering and leaving Lebanese waters in order to implement the mandate of UN Security Council Resolution Number 1701. One of the main tasks of the mandate is to prevent the smuggling of weapons and illegal goods into Lebanon via sea routes.

The Commander of KRI SIM-367 and also the Commander of the MTF TNI Konga XXVIII-P/UNIFIL Task Force, Lieutenant Colonel (P) Anugerah Annurullah, explained that this activity, in addition to carrying out operations according to the UN mandate, is also expected to increase the confidence level of helicopter pilots in an operational task force. “ISR Fight also aims to improve the capabilities and professionalism of soldiers, especially in maritime operations. In addition, this is certainly also to continue to foster teamwork and solidarity between the Ship crew, Heli Deck Party team, and Heli crew,” explained Dansatgas.
