It was a busy week for the sailors of the Chevalier Paul. All the frigate’s capabilities were put to the test thanks to a sustained series of exercises. The participation of Rubis and Suffren nuclear attack submarines made it possible to conduct complex escort exercises under submarine threat. The on-board inspection teams and Commandant Ducuing also conducted a cross-inspection exercise.

Finally, numerous interactions with helicopters will have made it possible to maintain the level of training in the aeronautical chain and qualify new pilots to land before their deployment on a mission.

Taking advantage of this week, many passengers had come on board to discover the Navy, notably from the Air and Space Army or the 13th Alpine Hunters Battalion, a unit twinned with the Chevalier Paul. Between submarine tracking and artillery fire, they also witnessed the first landing of an H160 on the helicopter platform of the Chevalier Paul and tasted the joys of a sometimes rough sea.
