On Saturday, September 16, 2023, and within the framework of the international cooperation of the Hellenic Armed Forces (ED) according to the planning of the HNDGS, a joint PASSEX (Passing Exercise) training of the frigate ELLI with the Offshore Patrol INS SUMEDHA of the Indian Navy took place in the sea area south of Crete.
This joint training, during which communications, advanced maneuvers and helicopter landings were performed, is a continuation of a series of activities in which the Armed Forces of Greece and India participated jointly. In addition, the participation for the first time of the Indian Air Force in the Multinational Exercise “INIOHOS 23” with Su-30 Aircraft, which sealed the close cooperation of the Armed Forces of the two countries.
The activity contributed to the enhancement of combat capability and operational readiness, as well as to the upgrading of interoperability and understanding between the participating forces and is part of the deepening of military relations between Greece and India.
