On Thursday, July 16, 2026, the Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff, Vice Admiral Dimitrios-Eleftherios Kataras, attended the departure ceremony of the annual Summer Training Voyage (THEP) of the Hellenic Naval Academy held at Xaveri Coast in Piraeus.
The ceremony was also attended by the Chief of the Fleet, Vice Admiral Christos Sasiakos, the Commander of the Hellenic Naval Academy, Rear Admiral Ioannis Retsas, as well as relatives and friends of the Naval Cadets.
The Frigate (GG) KANARIS and the General Support Ship (GY) PROMETHEUS, which are scheduled to sail to ports in the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, are participating in the THEP.
The purpose of the THEP is the on-board training, the acquisition of maritime experience and art by the Naval Cadets, the display of the Flag and the promotion of the Navy at the ports of call.
