Das Segelschulschiff Gorch Fock fährt mit gesetzten Segeln während der 175. Auslandsausbildungsfahrt vor der spanischen Küste, am 11.08.2023.

On Friday, March 8, 2024 at 10 a.m., the German Navy sailing training ship will leave its home port of Kiel to begin the 177th foreign training trip (AAR). This time the barge starts with just the regular crew. 115 officer candidates for the 2023 crew will not board until March 22, 2024 in the Spanish port of Gijon.

The “Gorch Fock” will continue its journey to Tangier (Morocco) and Porto (Portugal), where the crew change will take place and “new” junior officers will come on board. Cadets from France, Ghana, Cameroon, Colombia, Senegal, Thailand and Togo, among others, will take part in the training on the “Gorch Fock.”

From Porto it goes via St. Malo (France) back towards its home port of Kiel, where the ship is expected on June 14, 2024 in time for Kiel Week. The “Gorch Fock” will not only take part there as a flagship, but will also lead the windjammer parade on Saturday, June 29, 2024.
