On October 20, 2023, under the direction of Lieutenant Commander Laurent Rebec, commander of the decommissioning crew, the last ceremony of the colors took place aboard the command and supply ship (BCR) Marne, at the Vauban docks of the Toulon naval base.
The unit’s pennant was then presented to Rear Admiral Pierre-Yves Grente, Organic Assistant in Toulon to the Admiral Commanding the Naval Action Force.
More than 740,000 nautical miles and 37 round-the-world voyages have marked the 36 years of his rich operational career. On 11 May 2023, the Marne carried out its 2,624th and final replenishment at sea (RAM).
