The CMT Cephee and its crew participated in the ITALIAN MINEX 25 exercise off the coast of Sardinia. This large-scale exercise, itself part of the advanced Italian training exercise MARE APERTO 25, brought together six mine hunters and a command vessel.
In this advanced mine countermeasures scenario, the main objective of the Task Group was to clear several areas of mines in preparation for an amphibious phase. The CMT Céphée was thus able to collaborate with several NATO member nations, including Spain, Italy, and Turkey, to carry out its mission.
This collaboration provided an opportunity for enriching exchanges on mine warfare and on the procedures for integrating a constituted group.
Demonstrating once again the excellence of the French Navy in the field of mine countermeasures and the ability of its units to work effectively on all the seas of the globe, Cephee based in Brest, particularly distinguished itself by locating and identifying 3 historic mines in just 15 hours of hunting.
