At the Riva Trigoso shipyard, Fincantieri held the keel laying ceremony for the new Multi-purpose Offshore Unit (UAM), marking a key milestone in our collaboration with the Italian Coast Guard and transforming our expertise into tangible value for the country and the safety of our seas.
The UAM is designed to be the operational core for a wide range of long-range missions: from sea rescue to navigation safety, from the protection of the marine environment to that of fish resources, up to its use as a headquarters of operational command for the management of the various civil protection devices in intervention missions in response to severe disasters and calamities. Equipped with advanced technological systems, a flight deck for helicopter landing, and low-emission systems, this unit ensures high maneuverability and state-of-the-art capabilities.
The vessel, part of the renewal and enhancement program for the Italian Coast Guard’s naval fleet, represents a strategic investment to address future maritime challenges with modern, sustainable technologies and increasingly advanced operational capabilities.
