As a highlight, a ceremony conducted on board in the presence of the Chief of Staff of the Guinean Navy, saw the commander of the Jacoubet hand over a complete set of diving equipment to the Guinean Navy on behalf of the Commander-in-Chief for the Atlantic (CECLANT). This donation illustrates France’s willingness to participate in strengthening the operational capacities of our partner, which was immediately put to good use during a diving exercise between Guinean sailors and divers on board the Jacoubet.
The operational break, rich in exchanges, concluded with joint training at sea for visiting operations as well as a successful fisheries surveillance patrol, testifying to the excellent cooperation between the Guinean and French navies. This patrol marked the reunion at sea of two brothers, Chief Petty Officers Aboubacar and Lanasana, the former embarked since the beginning of December and for the duration of the mission on the French PHM, the latter embarked for the day as a liaison officer.
