DESAN successfully held the “keel laying” ceremony on Thursday 25th June, 2026, for the second Multi-Purpose Mission Ship (MPMS-2) being built for the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA).

The ceremony was attended by DESAN Shipyard’s top management, alongside the Consul General of Malaysia in Istanbul, Ahmad Amiri Abu Bakar; the representative of the Ministry of Home Affairs of Malaysia, Shah Rizan bin Mohamad Sirat; the representative of the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency, Rear Admiral Zulinda binti Ramly; and the Malaysian Defense Attaché, Col. Sazili Bin Ghazali. With this meaningful ceremony, we have stepped into a major production phase where the main hull of MPMS-2 begins to take shape.

Executed with great discipline, this project will become the largest and most effective platform in the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency’s inventory, featuring a length of 99 meters, fast interception boats, as well as unmanned surface and aerial vehicles.
