Training Ship Esmeralda docked in the port of Lisbon June 11th, the last European country to visit during this Instruction Trip.
Upon arrival, the Ambassador of Chile in Portugal, Marina Teitelboim, embarked, who was received with honors by the ship’s crew. In addition, it was visited by Portugal Navy Officers and by the concurrent Defense and Military Attaché for Croatia and Portugal, Army Colonel Pablo Lizama.
Also, upon its landing, the Chilean ship was welcomed with 21 cannon shots from the Salvo Battery by the Artillery Regiment No. 1 of the Portuguese Army.
Finally, Portugal will be the last European destination to be visited by Midshipmen and Sailors. Soon his destination will be Salvador de Bahia, in Brazil.
