The Western Naval Command (WNC), through BRP Lolinato To-Ong (PG-902) and the MCAAU–W, successfully recovered suspected illegal drugs floating near Sabina Shoal, West Philippine Sea. The operation stemmed from a report received around 6 p.m. on October 17, 2025, about a black bag containing unidentified packages believed to be high-grade marijuana.
Acting swiftly, WNC directed PG-902, which was conducting maritime and sovereignty patrols in the area, to verify and retrieve the items. The packages were successfully recovered at 6:40 a.m. on October 18 and, following proper procedures, were turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)–Palawan on October 20 for evaluation and proper disposition.
The Philippine Navy continues to support inter-agency efforts to combat illegal drug trafficking and ensure that the country’s maritime domains remain safe, secure, and free from unlawful activities.
