To begin the hydrographic survey of the Amazon River as part of the work planned by the Amazon Hydrography and Navigation Service, the BAP Stiglich set sail with the intention of collecting bathymetry and gauging data, from its formation at the confluence of the Ucayali and Marañón rivers to the triple border; and in this way, update the pilotage chart of the aforementioned river.

The upgrade of this important river navigation route is crucial for trade in this vast area, being one of the busiest in the Loreto region, benefiting thousands of Peruvians.

In this way, the Hydrography and Navigation Service guarantees safe navigation and reaffirms its commitment to the development of the Amazon region.
