The ambassador of Colombia in the seas, the ARC training ship “Gloria” will arrive tomorrow Saturday to the Arenosa to start the Cabin Boy Training Cruise No. 31 of the Naval School of Non-Commissioned Officers ARC “Barranquilla”, in which it will travel more than 2,000 nautical miles, crossing the waters of the Magdalena River until it reaches the Port of San Juan de Puerto Rico. visiting the Archipelago of San Andrés and Providencia until returning to the Golden Gate of Colombia on February 7, 2024.
Colombia’s flagship will open its doors on the Gran Malecón in the Puerta de Oro sector, free of charge, on Saturday, January 13 between 09:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. and on Sunday, January 14 between 08:00 a.m. and 02:00 p.m., so that locals and tourists can learn about the history of the Colombian Navy and its bicentennial sailors. who, for 200 years, have been deployed from all points of the compass protecting sovereignty and guaranteeing the maritime and river defense of the country.
Next Sunday, January 14 at 04:00 p.m., 72 future Non-commissioned Officers of the Colombian Navy will begin their embarkation stage with a solemn ceremony, which will open the 27-day journey through the Caribbean Sea. In this scenario, the Naval Cabin Boys will strengthen their capabilities and skills in seafaring and navigation maneuvers, contributing to the comprehensive training of the crew members of the Naval Institution.
