Armada Colombia

The ARC Training Ship “Gloria” arrived at the port of San Francisco, in the United States, after 14 days of sailing from Acapulco, to participate in “Fleet Week”, the largest annual civic celebration in California, which brings together sailing lovers and this year, joins the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the United States Navy.

The flagship sailboat of the Colombian Navy, arrives at this second port on the 2025 Cadet Training Cruise as a worthy Honorary Ambassador of Colombia in the seas of the world, and will be until October 13 receiving locals and tourists on its decks, completely free of charge, so that they can know and feel part of the Colombian culture and tradition in an exchange full of fraternity.

Upon arrival, the ship was received by His Excellency the Ambassador of Colombia accredited to the United States of America, Daniel García-Peña Jaramillo, the Consul of Colombia in San Francisco, Sonia Marina Pereira Portilla, civil and military authorities, and a large community of Colombians and foreigners, who vibrated with the notes of the national anthem and adorned the pier with their tricolor flags.

The crew of the majestic ARC “Gloria” will attend an agenda that includes protocol and cultural activities, strengthening ties of friendship with San Francisco and enriching the experiences of the students who are trained on board, as future Officers of the Colombian Navy.

On October 13, the flagship of the Colombians will set sail again to continue its journey to the port of Vancouver in Canada, where it will continue to be an itinerant exhibition of national history and tradition.
