On November 11, ARA Puerto Argentino arrived at the commercial dock of the capital of Tierra del Fuego, which will begin a new edition of the Combined Naval Antarctic Patrol (PANC) together with the Chilean Navy.

The unit, which had set sail last Tuesday from the dock of the Puerto Belgrano Naval Base, was received by the Commander of the Southern Naval Area (ANAU), Rear Admiral Guillermo Alberto Prada, accompanied by the heads of the Naval Zone and the ANAU Music Band.

As part of the National Antarctic Program (PANC), the ship commanded by Lieutenant Commander Cintia Maizares will assume the role of Antarctic Service Vessel, providing essential services such as search and rescue and environmental protection on the white continent. It will set sail to begin the first stage of its patrol on November 15, navigating south of the 60°S parallel, with the mission of safeguarding human life at sea, ensuring safe navigation, and preventing water pollution.
