The auxiliary fleet of the Russian Navy in 2023 plans to accept 20 support vessels, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
“This year, more than 20 support vessels are planned to be accepted into the fleet,” the press release said.
According to the ministry, over the past 10 years, more than 100 new support vessels, in particular, tugboats, tankers, icebreakers, floating cranes and multifunctional transport, have been adopted by the auxiliary fleet service.
Sailors of the auxiliary fleet regularly perform the tasks of providing water, fuel, food and other materiel to warships of fleet groups, the military department said.
On August 1, the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, congratulated the servicemen of the auxiliary fleet of the Russian Navy on their professional holiday – the Day of the Rear of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
