Colombian Navy seizes more than one ton of Cocaine

In the last hours, Coast Guard units from Coveñas managed to seize more than a ton of cocaine hydrochloride, aboard a Go-Fast boat that was abandoned by its crew on the beaches of the municipality of San Bernardo del Viento, in the department of Córdoba, due to the strong presence of the authorities in the area

Thanks to valuable information, it was possible to locate the illegal boat equipped with a large capacity for its transport, which was on the beaches of San Bernardo del Viento – Córdoba. At the site, the crew began the rigorous inspections, detecting that inside it stored 46 bags with the illicit substance and 32 plastic cans with approximately 1,200 gallons of gasoline.

The motor ship along with the seized material were taken to the Coveñas Coast Guard Station, where officials from the Technical Investigation Body of the Prosecutor’s Office carried out the verification of the contents of the packages and the Approved Preliminary Identification Tests – PIPH, yielding positive results for Cocaine hydrochloride, with a net weight of 1,152 kilograms.

With this seizure, the units of the Caribbean Naval Force were able to prevent nearly 35,000,000 dollars from entering the financial structures of organizations that commit crimes in this area.

The Colombian Navy through its units attached to the Caribbean Naval Force will continue to develop maritime operations that contribute to closing maritime spaces to organizations outside the law that intend to make illegal use of the waters of the Colombian Caribbean Sea, by time that invites the community to report through line 146 any suspicious activity that threatens the safety, integrity and life of the inhabitants.
