Galley equipment was tested on the logistics support vessel (STO) Vsevolod Bobrov, project 23120, built by order of the Ministry of Defense at the Severnaya Verf shipyard (part of USC).
The propulsion system and thrusters are now being tested on order. The builders completed the preparation of residential and office premises, carried out a general cleaning. The crew should arrive on the ship in late October – early November. Within two months, the crew members got acquainted with the vessel and its structure, but due to the changes introduced to the project, the general settlement schedule was changed.
After moving in, the team will begin to study the service station, its instruments and equipment. Sea trials are scheduled in the Baltic at the beginning of December.
Vsevolod Bobrov is the second project 23120 logistic support vessel built at Severnaya Verf. The lead ship “Elbrus” joined the group of support vessels for the service of the auxiliary fleet of the joint strategic command of the Northern Fleet in 2018. In 2019, it successfully completed a 175-day circumnavigation of the world as part of a detachment of Russian ships.
Logistics support vessels are intended for the carriage of goods, towing, hydrographic research, and assistance to ships in distress. The hull with ice class ARC4 is designed to overcome 0.6 m thick ice. The project has been modernized – additional equipment has been installed on Bobrov.
