Smetlivy Conversion to Museum Ship Nears Completion

August 10, 2020 (Google Translation) – The Black Sea Fleet patrol ship Smetlivy was taken out of the repair dock and moored at the berth for the next stage of its operation as a museum ship.

While the ship was at the dock, the specialists of the Sevastopol Marine Plant branch of Zvyozdochka Ship Repair Center JSC performed work on converting the Smetliviy.

After placing the ship in its permanent anchorage, the command of the Black Sea Fleet will continue to transfer the ship to the branch of the Patriot military-patriotic park of the Southern Military District. The employees of which, with the support of the veterans of the fleet, will carry out work on the museumification of the Smetliviy.

In 2019, the Black Sea Fleet patrol ship Smetlivy celebrated its 50th anniversary since the flag was raised and included in the naval fleet.

At the beginning of 2020, the Smetlivy patrol ship was included in the book of records (achievements) of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation with the wording “50 years in the Navy” for twofold exceeding the design service life.
