Brunei & Singapore Conduct Exercise Pelican

July 29, 2020 – The 39th series of Exercise PELICAN between Royal Brunei Navy and Republic of Singapore Navy was successfully conducted. This year’s series was participated by KDB DARULEHSAN and RSS SUPREME whilst enroute to Guam, United States of America.

This year’s Exercise PELICAN was executed in a duration of three days starting from the 27th July 2020, and ended on 29th July 2020. Led by Commanding Officer of KDB DARULEHSAN, Commander Haji Edy Jofren bin PDP DP Haji Jalil as the CTG, serials conducted comprised of communications, warfare and navigation serials such as FLAG HOIST exercise, Gunnery exercise and Manoeuvring exercise. The exercise concluded on the 29th July 2020 with closing remarks from both Commanding Officers followed by a Sail Pass, to bring the ceremony to a close.

Since the establishment of Exercise PELICAN in 1979, the serials conducted between both navies have grown in complexity, therefore developing understanding on naval tactics and procedures, enhancing interoperability and sharing of experience at professional level. Furthermore, not only has it strengthened the relationship between the navies, it is also has built friendship amongst RBN and RSN personnel at all levels.
