STM, Türkiye’s leading naval engineering company, has held the keel laying ceremony for N.R.P. FERNANDO PESSOA, the second Auxiliary Oiler Replenisher and Logistics Ship (LSS) being built for the Portuguese Navy, in Istanbul. With both vessels now under construction simultaneously, the project marks another important milestone in Türkiye’s first-ever military ship export to a European Union (EU) and NATO member country.
STM Savunma Teknolojileri Mühendislik ve Ticaret A.Ş. has reached another significant milestone in its international naval programs. Selected by the Portuguese Navy following a competitive tender against leading global shipbuilders, STM signed the contract for the Auxiliary Oiler Replenisher and Logistics Ship Project in Lisbon on 17 December 2024, securing Türkiye’s first-ever military ship export to an EU and NATO member country.
