The second joint naval exercise between the Russian Navy and the Indonesian Navy, Orruda-2026, took place in the Sea of Japan. The Russian side was represented by corvette Sovershennyy of the Pacific Fleet, while the Indonesian side was represented by frigate Gusti Ngurah Rai.
During the first day of the exercise, the crews of the ships conducted maneuvering and communication training using various signaling methods. Subsequently, the crews of the ships from both countries conducted inspection procedures on suspicious vessels, as well as blockading and liberating a vessel “captured” by terrorists, using the anti-terrorism units of the ships.
Furthermore, the crews of the ships from the two friendly countries conducted training exercises to counter unmanned boats and unmanned aerial vehicles, including firing from automatic artillery systems and small arms, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
In the final stage of the exercise, the crews of the ships repelled simulated attacks by air assets, including searching for aerial targets and conducting simulated engagements using the ships’ air defense systems.
