One of the most modern ships of the Russian Navy – the ‘Tiger’ corvette of Project 20382 from USC’s ‘Almaz’ Design Bureau – is being showcased in its export version at the United Shipbuilding Corporation’s booth as part of the International Maritime Defense Show ‘FLEET-2026’ taking place in Kronstadt these days.
The ‘Tiger’ corvettes are designed for conducting combat operations against enemy surface, underwater, and air forces, providing combat protection for naval groups, engaging coastal targets with artillery fire, and safeguarding territorial waters.
A unique feature of the corvettes is that, despite their relatively small displacement (unlike, for example, frigates), they possess significant firepower, ensuring the defense of coastal borders and forming the second echelon of the fleet.
The armament of the Project 20382 ‘Tiger’ corvette is configured based on the customer’s requirements. For combating surface targets, the ‘Tigers’ are equipped with an anti-ship missile system, while their anti-submarine defense is ensured by a hydroacoustic system and torpedo weapons. For striking ground targets, there is the option of installing an operational-tactical missile system.
