During their training cruise in the Atlantic, the Mission Jeanne d’Arc was joined at sea by the supply ship of the forces (BRF) Jacques Stosskopf , to conduct several maneuvers and exercises with it.
On April 17, 2026, the Jeanne d’Arc task group joined the Jacques Stosskopf, the second BRF (Brigade de Répression de Formation – Restricted Reduction Force) of the French Navy. Having departed Toulon on January 16, a little over a month before the amphibious helicopter carrier (PHA) Dixmude and the La Fayette-class frigate (FLF) Aconit, the Jacques Stosskopf is conducting its long-term deployment in preparation for its commissioning into active service.
Upon its arrival at the task group, the ship conducted a double replenishment at sea. During this operation, it simultaneously refueled the Aconit and the Dixmude. Her support capabilities are a valuable asset to the Jeanne d’Arc group and demonstrate the ability of these ships to reinforce a force on a mission.
A few days later, Jacques Stosskopf carried out a second night resupply. Simultaneously, the amphibious assault ship deployed its helicopters, demonstrating the crews’ ability to conduct complex maneuvers simultaneously.
This sequence demonstrates the high level of competence of the crews, capable of carrying out complex maneuvers necessary for the continuity of missions.
This joint voyage with the BRF also provides an opportunity for officer cadets to benefit from additional learning experience. Thus, some of them were “trapaxed” onto the Jacques Stosskopf to discover the specific features of this vessel, on which they may soon be called upon to serve!
