On 11 February 2026, Vice-Admiral Christophe Cluzel, commander of the naval action force, presided over the ceremony of arming for trials of the coastal patrol vessel (PC) Beuzeval.
The ceremony, marking the birth of the first crew, began with the raising of the colors. It continued with the assumption of command during which the admiral had Lieutenant Robin Lécuyer recognized as commander of the Beuzeval.
Built by SOCARENAM at the Boulogne-sur-Mer shipyard, the Beuzeval PC is entering the heart of its dockside test phase with the first propulsion tests. It will then continue to increase its power during the first sea trips from mid-March. The ship is expected in Cherbourg, its home port, at the end of April.
Intended to strengthen the patrol boat segment in Cherbourg, the CP will be able to conduct all the missions currently undertaken by public service patrol vessels (PSP): safety of human life, surveillance of maritime approaches, fisheries police, NATO deployments, etc.
The name of this coastal patrol boat refers to a point located in Calvados. She was part of a series of six ships, her sistership the Rozel being armed by the maritime gendarmerie.
