The port service of the Royal Netherlands Navy in Den Helder will have 3 new medium-sized harbor tugs at its disposal next year. Shipyard Neptune Marine will deliver the boats. The contract was signed yesterday.
The new vessels carry out towing activities for the Navy. The tugs also support the fuel supply and the fight against calamities. The port authority is responsible for the unmooring and unmooring of naval vessels.
Modern fleet
The new harbor tugs will replace the current Breezand & Linge class tugboats. Earlier, the North Sea and Bollard classes were introduced. With the arrival of the new boats, the port authority has a completely modern fleet.
