Within the framework of the UNITAS LXVI Multinational Exercise and the SUBDIEX 2025 Operational Deployment, the BAP “PISAGUA” (SS-33) arrived at the Submarine Pier, located at the Callao Naval Base, after successfully completing its participation in these events in the United States. The naval vessel departed on August 11, 2025, bound for the port of Mayport in Jacksonville, Florida.

This deployment strengthened the operational capabilities and international interoperability of the Peruvian Navy. It is worth noting that the UNITAS LXVI exercise took place from September 15 to October 6, 2025, with the participation of 26 countries, in the port of Norfolk, Virginia. Subsequently, from October 11 to December 12 of the same year, it participated in the SUBDIEX exercise, alongside the United States Navy, in Mayport, Florida. In both locations, anti-submarine warfare exercises were conducted, employing aircraft, helicopters, aircraft carriers, and surface ships. These exercises enhanced the level of joint training and response capabilities to this type of threat.

The arrival ceremony was presided over by the Commander General of the Navy, Admiral Javier Bravo de Rueda, accompanied by the Acting Commander General of Pacific Operations, Rear Admiral Roberto Alcandré Ángeles, and the Commander of the Submarine Force, Rear Admiral Luis León Cores.

Also present were the families of the naval personnel, who were reunited with their loved ones after nearly six months of deployment abroad. This strengthened the bonds between the naval family and the institution, and demonstrated the ongoing support for those performing operational duties.

Finally, the Commander General of the Navy congratulated the crew on their outstanding performance, highlighting their professionalism, commitment to maritime security and defense, discipline, and dedication to service, and emphasizing the emotional support provided by their families. The participation of Second Lieutenant Flor Rojas Padilla, the first female officer, was also recognized.
