KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321 conducted the first firing of the 76 mm Sovraponte Cannon during a structural firing trial cruise as part of a series of follow-up seagoing activities. This activity was carried out to test the strength of the ship’s structure, the integration of weapons systems, and ensure that all mechanical and electrical aspects function according to technical specifications, Thursday (22/1/2026).

This first firing was a crucial moment in the warship’s trial stages, where vibrations, structural response, and the stability of the weapons platform were thoroughly observed to ensure safety and operational effectiveness in the future. The entire series of activities were carried out by implementing strict safety procedures and involving personnel according to their respective functions and expertise.

In addition to structural firing, during this trial cruise, a lifeboat role test was also carried out to test the readiness of the lifeboat lowering and operating system, while also improving the skills of the ship’s crew in supporting shipping safety and preparedness for emergencies.

Through this series of trials, it is hoped that the KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321 will be increasingly ready to enter the next operational phase and be able to support the Indonesian Navy’s duties in maintaining the sovereignty and security of national waters, in accordance with the orders of the Chief of Naval Staff (Kasal), Admiral TNI Dr. Muhammad Ali.
