On Thursday, January 15, 2026, the transfer to Beirut of military material, which is a free concession of the Hellenic Republic to the Republic of Lebanon, was successfully implemented. The transfer was conducted in cooperation between the Ministry of National Defence and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in coordination with the competent state bodies, in the context of our country’s defense diplomacy actions.
Specifically, a Navy tanker transported 13 Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs) M – 113, 10 STEYR 680M 2 1/2 ton General Purpose Vehicles, as well as materials – spare parts for their support, to the port of Beirut, where they were made available to the Lebanese authorities.
It is recalled that the Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias, paid visits to Lebanon, while he had a meeting in Athens with the Minister of Defence of Lebanon, Michel Menasa, during which the issue of Greece’s assistance to the Lebanese Armed Forces, with the free provision of military material, was discussed.
