Within the framework of the Fourth Social Action Campaign 2025, the Itinerant Platform for Social Action BAP Río Yavarí, under the responsibility of the General Command of Operations of the Amazon, carried out an emergency aeromedical evacuation during its day of care in the Puerto Alegría Native Community, province of Mariscal Ramón Castilla, in Loreto.

The medical team attended to the minor with the initials K.L.P.R., 10 years old, from the San Francisco de Yahuma community, who presented a high fever, respiratory difficulty and signs of severe compromise. After clinical evaluation and pediatric radio consultation, she was diagnosed with acute respiratory failure and bacterial pneumonia, which forced the immediate activation of the specialized medical referral protocol.

Given the seriousness of the condition, his aeromedical evacuation was ordered to a larger capacity establishment. An aircraft landed in Puerto Alegría to embark the patient and her father to the Regional Hospital of Loreto, in Iquitos, allowing to guarantee timely and adequate care. The articulation of medical personnel, the evacuation system and the reference team made a quick and effective response possible.
