Auvergne Takes Part in NATO Exercise DYNAMIC MANTA 2022

On February 19, 2022, the Multi-Mission Frigate (FREMM) Auvergne sailed from Toulon towards Sicily, as part of the DYNAMIC MANTA 2022 exercise.

Organized by NATO from February 21 to March 4, DYNAMIC MANTA 2022 is a high-level anti-submarine warfare exercise that brings together units from nine allied nations (France, Canada, Greece, Italy, Spain, Turkey, United United States, Germany, United Kingdom) in order to maintain their level of interoperability against modern underwater threats. On this occasion, Auvergne is placed under the operational control of the NATO maritime command (MARCOM) based in Northwood (United Kingdom).

The French Navy is committing to DYNAMIC MANTA 2022 a nuclear attack submarine, an ATL2 maritime patrol aircraft and the FREMM Auvergne accompanied by its NH-90 Caiman helicopter, a particularly effective duo in the field of anti-submarine warfare where French excellence is recognized.
