The Peruvian Navy’s riverine vessel “Corrientes” set sail from the facilities of the General Command of Operations in the Amazon, marking the start of the third Social Action Campaign of the National PAIS Program of the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion.

This campaign will tour the Tigre River basin, providing essential services to 17 riverside communities. This intervention will benefit families of the Kichwa, Achuar, and Kukama Kukamiria ethnic groups, and will facilitate access to health, identity, and social protection services.

During this journey, the onboard personnel will provide general medical care, dentistry, obstetrics, nursing (growth and development, immunizations), laboratory, pharmacy, and triage services to the most remote and vulnerable populations in the Amazon.

Representatives from the Banco de la Nación, RENIEC, the JUNTOS Program, JUGUEMOS, OMAPED, the Ministry of Culture, and MAC Express will also be present on board the traveling platform, offering various social services as part of the State’s coordinated intervention.

Through these actions, the Peruvian Navy reaffirms its commitment to the well-being and comprehensive development of Amazonian communities, helping to ensure an effective state presence in the riverine environment.
