After two weeks of patrol in a very high piracy risk zone, the crew of the EV Jacoubet carried out a three-day operational break in Libreville. After setting sail from the EV Jacoubet, the two navies conducted an exercise to combat illegal fishing, one of the Gabonese government’s major concerns. Thus, the Atlantique 2 deployed in Libreville located a suspicious trawler, on which the Gabonese patrol vessel Mayumba carried out a fisheries control operation, supported by the EV Jacoubet .

In parallel, the Air and Space Force Fennec, detached to the EFG, played the role of a hostile aircraft, so that the EV Jacoubet could train in anti-aircraft defense procedures . The helicopter then arrived to conduct personnel winches on the rear deck.

On the evening of January 21, the PHM EV Jacoubet returned to its patrol area in the Gulf of Guinea, thus continuing the AFRICAN NEMO 22.1 exercise in cooperation with the Atlantic 2, the Danish frigate Esbern Snare and the local marines.
