Multilateral ASW Exercise Sea Dragon 2022

The JMSDF participates in a multilateral anti-submarine warfare exercise “Sea Dragon 2022” which
is led by the U.S. Navy in order to strengthen cooperation to realize a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific”
as described below.
1. Objectives
(1) To improve JMSDF’s tactical capabilities
(2) To strengthen cooperation with the participants

January 2-20
3. Exercise Area
In the vicinity around Guam
4. Participating units
Two P-1 and approximately 50 personnel
(Commander: MICHIYAMA Tomoyuki, Commander, Flight Squadron 31)

Preventive measures against COVID-19 is being implemented during the exercise
