Two assets of Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) have arrived in Malaysia in connection with the operational visit program March 5th.

Assets consisting of destroyer class type ships namely JS ARIAKE (DD109) and JS HAMAGIRI (DD 155) arrived at Port Klang Cruise Terminal welcomed by the KD Pelandok band. Also present in the ceremony of receiving the arrival of the ship is the Assistant Ambassador of Japan in Malaysia, Minister Karimata Atsushi.
In this series of operational visits, the Japan Defense Advisory Office also planned an interaction program with TLDM citizens including ship tour activities involving TLDM citizens from the Naval Headquarters and National Hydrographic Center. In addition, the ASW TLDM Helicopter Project Nucleus Team has been invited in the Subject Matter Expert Exchange program to conduct a visit to the ship and take a closer look at the ASW Helicopter (SH-60J) operated by JS ARIAKE.

This visit made a historical record that will be another catalyst for strengthening of bilateral relations between TLDM and the Japanese Navy in the future.
